State of the Nation: Gopher Sports Blogs
Starting a blog ... it's serious business. Except when you're doing it for grins and don't really care otherwise. Still, when starting up a new venture, I read somewhere -- could have been at the Carlson School -- that you should investigate the "competition".
So let's do that.
How many similar blogs are out there already? According to a brief Google search, here are the few that I came up with:
Gopher Sports Blog -- Appears to be the definitive "unofficial" blog for all things Gopher. Andy Swartz posts regularly with both news and opinion. I'll definitely be bookmarking this one and visiting often.
Gopher Hole -- Also a pretty comprehensive unofficial site, covering the major sports.
Golden Gopher Hockey Blog -- All things hockey and only hockey.
Fire Glen Mason -- Game over. For more generalized Minnesota sports commentary, the author posts at Midwest Sports Rubes. Other blogs in this vein: Firemason.com and Fireglenmason.com. Huh.
And there you have it. Six blogs, three of which are devoted to the firing of (now ex-) football coach Glen Mason.
Yep, I think there's room for one more.
